Finding EMU Periodical Titles Full-Text or Indexed Online

While at this time the EMU library does not have a single definitive list of:

  • periodical titles available full-text online, or
  • periodical titles indexed in the over 100 database services we subscribe to

the following web sites provide some assistance.

  • AccessMichigan Periodical List-Full Text
(Oakland Schools New Media Information Center)

AccessMichigan, in partnership with the Library of Michigan and the Michigan Electronic Library (MEL), has purchased seventy commercial databases which are available free-of-charge to Michigan residents through all types of Michigan libraries. This includes Eastern Michigan University's Bruce T. Halle Library.

  • Periodical Titles in OCLC FirstSearch

    1. Type the periodical title on the line saying Title:
    2. On the line saying Database: click on the down-arrow and then select Search All Databases

    NOTE:
EMU does NOT subscribe to all of the databases available in OCLC's FirstSearch service. Also, even if EMU does subscribe to an OCLC database, we may not be paying for, and hence may not have access to all of the journals available in the database.

  • Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe - Title List

Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe offers access to the full text (mostly) of more than 5,000 newspapers, magazines, trade journals, newsletters, and transcripts. The full-text titles included in this resource are not, for the most part, reflected in the other finding aids listed on this page.

  • Dow Jones Interactive - Publications Library

Search for a publication title among the more than 6000 sources included in the Publications Library.

  • JSTOR - Title List

Complete text of the backfiles of about 150 core scholarly journals in the fields of history, economics, political science, population/demography, philosophy, mathematics, sociology, ecology and botany.
    Participating journals by discipline.

  • Project MUSE - Title List

Project Muse is an online journal collection containing the full-text of 112 titles in the arts and humanities, social sciences, and mathematics.

  • Nursing Journals - Title List

Search and display the text of about 275 nursing journals.

  • Chemistry Journals - Title List

  • Physics Journals - Title List

  • jake (Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment)

jake (Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment) is a collaborative project which helps answer the questions:
    • In what online services is full text for a particular journal available?
    • What online services index articles published in a particular journal?

    NOTE:
Search results are not specific to EMU and include information about some resources that are not available at EMU.
